Most monorail projects of the past have actually been tri-rail: three running surfaces rather than one. Two running surfaces are actually more efficient than three! Look at Disneyland’s monorail and see what I mean! They are also uniformly slow when compared with such conventional rapid transit systems as BART in the San Francisco Bay area!
